Mrs. Theresa Veilleux “Terri” Lankford, 77, beloved wife of Winfred “Wink” Lankford, of Yeo Neck Run in Melfa, VA, slipped away to a better place, and to be with her Lord, Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Born September 30, 1941 in Waterville, ME, she was a daughter of the late Edward Veilleux and Anna Hebert Veilleux. Terri was a bookkeeper, banker, and in recent years, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Harbour Realty. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and their Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary; Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and former longtime member of the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club, where she and Wink spent many hours socializing with friends, both old and new.
Terri and Wink enjoyed ‘wintering’ in Florida, where Terri worked on her stained-glass creations, and they treasured meeting many longtime friends from all over the United States and Canada. Their traveling excursions, in the RV and otherwise, were experiences to never forget, and will remain in their hearts forever. They mutually adored each other, and relished their happiness of realizing this blessing in their life.
In addition to her beloved husband of 61 years, Terri is survived by two sisters, Alice LaChance and husband Pearley, of Winslow, ME, and Julie Northrup of Dade City, FL; a brother, Edward “Eddie” Veilleux and wife Idella, of Windsor Locks, CT; dearest friend who was like their daughter, Pat Parker, and her family, husband Harry, and sons Matt and Jake, of Onancock, VA; sister-in-law, Karen Veilleux (wife of Terri’s brother Joseph) of Oceanside, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Joining her parents are two brothers, John and Joseph Veilleux, by whom she was predeceased.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Terri’s life, will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Rogelio L. Abadano officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
