Arlet Magnolia Ortiz Ortiz

Miss Arlet Magnolia Ortiz Ortiz, 8, of Parksley, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Children’s Hospital at VCU in Richmond, VA. 

Born on April 27, 2016, in Washington, D.C., Arlet was the daughter of Lucas Otoniel Ortiz Ortega and Otilia Magnolia Ortiz Gonzalez.

Arlet was an honor roll student in second grade at Metompkin Elementary. She loved to color, loved animals, and watching YouTube—especially Miraculous Ladybugs. She was very joyful, lovable, and loved all animals. Her favorite color was purple, and she especially loved purple butterflies. Arlet loved everything made of chocolate and enjoyed eating out with her family, especially Big Macs and Texas Roadhouse. She loved scrambled eggs from her Mamita in the morning. She was involved with the church song and dance troupe. Always a happy little girl who loved pretty dresses, she loved her family with her whole heart. Every time her family sees a butterfly, they will know a little piece of Arlet is watching over them from Heaven.

Arlet is survived by her parents, Lucas Otoniel Ortiz Ortega and Otilia Magnolia Ortiz Gonzalez, of Parksley, VA; sisters, Estefany Ortiz and Christy Ortiz, both of Parksley, VA; paternal grandmother, Lupe Ortega; maternal grandparents, Eusebia Gonzalez Perez and Telmo Ortiz; and a host of extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Lucas Ortiz.

A church service for Arlet will be conducted Sunday, April 13, 2025, at noon, at Iglesia el Candelero de Oro in Parksley, VA. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, with interment following at Parksley Cemetery, with Pastor Humberto Rodriguez officiating.

La señorita Arlet Magnolia Ortiz Ortiz, de 8 años, residente de Parksley, Virginia, falleció el martes 8 de abril de 2025 en el Hospital Infantil de VCU en Richmond, Virginia.

Nacida el 27 de abril de 2016 en Washington, D.C., Arlet era hija de Lucas Otoniel Ortiz Ortega y Otilia Magnolia Ortiz González.

Arlet fue una estudiante con honores en segundo grado de la Escuela Primaria Metompkin. Le encantaba colorear, los animales y ver YouTube, especialmente las Mariquitas Milagrosas. Era muy alegre, adorable y amaba a todos los animales. Su color favorito era el morado, y en especial las mariposas moradas. A Arlet le encantaba todo lo que fuera de chocolate y disfrutaba salir a comer con su familia, especialmente las Big Macs y el Texas Roadhouse. Le encantaban los huevos revueltos que le preparaba su mamá por la mañana. Participaba en el grupo de canto y baile de la iglesia. Siempre una niña feliz a la que le encantaban los vestidos bonitos, amaba a su familia con todo su corazón. Cada vez que su familia vea una mariposa, sabrán que un pequeño recuerdo de Arlet los cuida desde el cielo.

A Arlet le sobreviven sus padres, Lucas Otoniel Ortiz Ortega y Otilia Magnolia Ortiz González, residentes de Parksley, Virginia; sus hermanas, Estefany Ortiz y Christy Ortiz, ambas de Parksley, Virginia; su abuela paterna, Lupe Ortega; sus abuelos maternos, Eusebia González Pérez y Telmo Ortiz; y numerosos familiares y amigos. Le precedió en la muerte su abuelo paterno, Lucas Ortiz.

El servicio religioso en memoria de Arlet se llevará a cabo el domingo 13 de abril de 2025 al mediodía en la Iglesia el Candelero de Oro en Parksley, Virginia. El funeral se llevará a cabo el lunes 14 de abril de 2025 a la 1:00 p. m. en la Funeraria Williams-Parksley, y el entierro posterior en Cementerio Parksley, oficiado por el pastor Humberto Rodríguez.
