William Alfred “Bill” Justis, 77, husband of Wanda Taylor Justis and a resident of Parksley, VA, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born November 1, 1945 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Alfred Thomas Justis and Alma Curtin Justis.
Bill graduated from Parksley High School, class of 1964, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War. Upon honorable discharge in 1968, Bill returned home and began his lifelong career in sales, having worked for various companies on the Eastern Shore over the years. He was a lifetime member of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company, as well as a member of VFW Post 2296, Tasley, VA and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Bill was a diehard Washington Redskins fan, enjoyed a good NASCAR race or an afternoon fishing, but he’d gladly skip a game or a race to go riding around, creek to creek, with Wanda.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Bill is survived by his children, Amy Taylor and her husband, Ric, of Parksley, Will Justis and his wife, Kristina, of Accomac, VA, and Kathy Young and her husband, Greg, of Snow Hill, MD; brothers, Thomas Patrick Justis and his wife, Judy, of Bossier City, LA and Michael Joseph Justis of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Kaylin Taylor (Sam), Kassie Taylor, Jordan Justis (Tim), Brooke Justis (Seamus), Delaney Taylor, and Sydney Taylor; great-grandsons, Camden Wilkerson and Jordan Baines; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Parksley Cemetery on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Bob Boyce officiating.
