Brittany Chase Obituary

Brittany Nicole Chase, 24, of Horntown, VA, passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Born on January 3, 2001, in Salisbury, MD, she was the daughter of John and Glinda DeHaven.

Always radiant with warmth, intelligence, and a wickedly sharp sense of humor, Brittany had a way of drawing people in and making them feel at home. She was effortlessly funny, fiercely loyal, and had a mind that thrived on curiosity. In high school, she pursued courses in nursing with dreams of one day becoming a biochemist, but her greatest passion wasn’t found in textbooks—it was in the love she poured into the people around her. Evenings were best spent laughing with friends, blasting Paramore, or getting lost in the worlds of Demon Slayer, Naruto, and One Piece. But the moment that truly defined her life was becoming a mother. Alexander and Viólette were her heart, her joy, her everything. Whether she was chasing them around the park, tucking them in with extra snuggles, or simply watching them grow, Brittany embraced motherhood with all the love in her soul. Though her time here was far too short, her children will always carry the light of her love—a legacy of warmth, strength, and an unbreakable bond that even time cannot erase.

Brittany is survived by her darling children, Alexander Lee Asbury Vayo and Viólette Renéa Chase; husband, Skyler Devin Chase; parents, of John and Glinda DeHaven; sister, Ariela DeHaven; grandmother, Cindy Brittingham; aunt and uncle, Apryl and Mike Nelson; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Asbury and Donna DeHaven.

Family and friends celebrated Brittany’s life privately.
