Carl L. Abramson passed peacefully after a brief illness at the Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA, on
March 5, 2024. Carl was born September 17, 1946, in Massachusetts, a son to Margaret and Charles Abramson.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Abramson, of Painter, VA; his daughter, Krista Jennings, and her husband, Peter, of Rotonda West, FL; his brother, Glenn Abramson, and his wife, Carol, of Middleboro, MA; sister, June Abramson, of Middleboro, MA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews; and of course, Buddy, his beloved dog.
Carl is predeceased by his mother, Margaret I. Abramson, and his father, Charles L. Abramson.
Carl and Pat celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in October of 2023 after many years of laughter, nagging, and love. Carl was an avid golfer, loved to cook, joke, and write short stories and poems. He was loved by almost everyone he came in contact with due to his dry sense of humor, quick wit, sarcasm, and willingness to always stick up for the underdog.
Carl served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969, where he received a citation for “Award of Joint Service Commendation Medal” from the National Security Agency. After being discharged, he worked for Burroughs Corporation in Brockton, MA, then Dataware in Westwood, MA, which was later bought out by Sayers before he retired in 2003. Carl took some odd jobs in Virginia, to keep his mind active, for the Town of Exmore, the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club, and the Exmore Moose Lodge. He excelled at all but preferred to spend his time on the course.
Carl requested no services upon his passing.
