Carole Alice Ingalls Gubb, 78, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, Carroll and Alice Ingalls. She is survived by her husband, Geoff; daughter, Ishneila “Squig” Moore (Timothy); son, Joaquin Gubb (Tina); and grandchildren, Griffin and Will Moore and Sophie and Emma Gubb.
Carole was born in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated from Walter Johnson high school and the University of Maryland. She was an avid reader, farmer, traveler and explorer. She was passionately curious and a lifelong learner. She enrolled in class after class at the Eastern Shore Community College and challenged herself to read and research a topic thoroughly before making any conclusions. She loved being around people, and she met people where she found them, treating everyone with kindness, respect and dignity. She enjoyed being a part of a book club, an investment club and a supper club with friends. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mom and grandmother. She was brave and fearless, and she is missed by a family that was very saddened when Alzheimer’s disease robbed her of her mind in the last years of her life. We loved her immensely.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Shore Community College Foundation, 29316 Lankford Highway, Melfa, VA 23410, or the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
