Carter B. Parks, Jr., 67, husband of Karla Nelson Parks and a resident of Parksley, VA, passed away at his home on Friday, October 29, 2021.
Born December 25, 1953, he was the son of the late Carter “Braxton” Parks, Sr. and Mary “Elizabeth” Hart Parks. Carter received his master’s degree from George Washington University, and was a longtime educator in several entities and capacities. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his wife, children, and community. Carter was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed reading, and treasured spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter Anne “Annie” Elizabeth Parks and her boyfriend Robert Marshall; his son John Carter Parks and his wife Lisa; a grandson Andrew Colona; and best friends, Allen Thornton and Buddy West.
A celebration of Carter’s life will be held at a later date.
