Dawn Hurley Obituary

With profound sadness and gentle remembrance, we announce the passing of Dawn Michele (Holland) Hurley, who departed this life on April 30, 2025. A woman of unwavering faith and deep compassion, she touched many lives with her empathy, kindness, and steadfast devotion to God. Her grace and caring spirit will always be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dawn radiated a magnetic warmth and offered a boundless love that defied definition. Her close friends witnessed her empathy and compassion, which knew no limits. Whether feeding those in need or opening her heart and home to stray cats, Dawn gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly. Her soul seemed to reach beyond this world, quietly touching lives without ever seeking praise or reward. Though she would have shied away from recognition, her legacy of selfless kindness will endure.

Even with her apprehension around others, Dawn was willing to set aside her own unease to assist those in need. She embraced life's adventures, journeying with friends wherever the road might lead. Her vibrant soul and larger-than-life personality far exceeded her petite five-foot frame. Dawn found joy and solace in music, often soaring on the melodies of Enya and The Corrs or finding deep connection in the heartfelt lyrics of Jelly Roll's "I Am Not Okay."

Dawn nurtured a quiet passion for writing and a deep love of reading, a gift she inherited from her mother. Some of their most cherished moments were spent together, sharing stories and snacking on honey-roasted peanuts as she read aloud to comfort her mom. After losing her mother at just 18, she dreamed of writing a book in her honor – a dream she carried in her heart, though life did not grant her the chance to fulfill it.

Dawn was predeceased by her father, Elton Holland, and her mother, Margaret (Bowden) Holland. Her unwavering faith in God brought her comfort and the hope that she would one day be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.
