Deborah Gingell Obituary

Deborah Ann “Debbie” Gingell, 62, wife of William “Bill” Gingell III and a resident of Wachapreague, VA, formerly of Chesapeake Beach, MD, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home. Born November 16, 1958 in Prince George’s County, MD, she was the daughter of Pat Miller (Shorty Grierson) and the late William Wesner, Sr.

Debbie had a beautiful heart, one that loved everyone completely and unconditionally. Known to many as “Mama Deb,” her home was open to all and there wasn’t a kid that came through the door that didn’t feel like they were one of her own. She loved spending days at the beach searching for shells and sand dollars and was often found reading or putting a puzzle together. Deb enjoyed sitting on her front porch listening to the birds chirp and looked forward to her next trip with her husband, and best friend, Bill. Above all else, she was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Deb leaves behind priceless memories filled with exemplary examples of strength, perseverance, and how to show and give love and for that, we are grateful.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Heather Grierson and her fiancé, Steve Conner and Ray Grierson and his wife, Alex, all of Chesapeake Beach, Steve Gingell and his wife, LeAnne, of Huntington, MD, and Michael Gingell and his fiancé, Megan Muegge, of Cape Charles, VA; father-in-law, William “Bill” Gingell, Jr. of Melfa, VA; sisters, Mary Willis and her husband, JR, Ellen Larrimore and her husband, Steve, Janice Miller, and Bonnie Boswell; brother, George Miller; grandchildren, Marli, Nolan, Maddy, McKenna, Lillian, Charlotte, Maddison, and Zoey; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Other than her father, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Wesner; brother, William Wesner, Jr.; stepfather, Charlie Miller; mother-in-law, Judy Gingell; and nephew, Mikie Simms.

Funeral services will be private, however, the family will invite friends to gather in celebration of Debbie’s life at a later date.
