Frances Marie Porco

Mrs. Frances Porco, of Onancock, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the age of 91.

Frances was born May 14, 1933, in Pennsylvania, just a few months after her father died in a mining accident. She was raised in Brooklyn, NY, after her mother remarried; she had four brothers and sisters, all of whom predeceased her.

Frances was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank V. Porco of Brooklyn. Upon his death, Frances moved to Onancock, to be near family.

Frances loved to travel and cherished the memories of many trips and cruises with her late husband. Frances also loved art and going to museums, so she took up oil painting as a hobby. She loved to attend many of the gallery showings in Onancock especially on “Second Friday.” She also enjoyed cooking, fine food and wine, and dining at local restaurants. She enjoyed her long and full life. She was a gracious and kind person who was loved by all who knew her.

Frances is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Porco, of Onancock; son, Frank Porco, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; granddaughter, Alice Porco, of San Diego, CA; grandson, Frankie Porco, of Jersey City, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

Per her request, no services will be held. There will be a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
