Frederick Allen O'Neal

Frederick Allen O’Neal, 53, of Parksley, VA, and formerly of Salisbury, MD, Passed away at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Born on April 26, 1972, in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Terry Lynn O’Neal and Robert Donald O’Neal, Sr.

Fred was a graduate of Wicomico Senior High School, Class of 1990. His love for mechanical things sparked an interest in working and rebuilding cars with his father. He became the manager at the Dream Machine at the Centre of Salisbury, and later worked at Sub Runners repairing equipment and also as a line cook.

After a stroke in 2020, Fred enjoyed his time with Cousin Buddy Lednum, who lightened his mood with his gregarious sense of humor. They spent time shooting guns in the yard, engaging in quests and raids through the World of Warcraft, and receiving the gift of understanding—that despite physical setbacks, one can still live a fulfilling life.

In his final weeks, he made sure to express his gratitude to his caretaker, Dana Lednum, by reminding her to take care of herself while taking care of him. The family also wants to thank the staff at Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center who took care of him during his brief stay.

Fred is survived by his brother, Robert D. O’Neal and his wife, of Salisbury; sister, Tracy L. Wright and her husband, of Salisbury; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, second cousins, and one great-nephew.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
