Gunnery Sergeant Arthur John Bauman, Jr., USMC, Retired, 67, husband of Lynda Esposito Bauman and a resident of Quinby, VA, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at his home. Born September 21, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Arthur John Bauman, Sr. and Evelyn Borman Bauman.
As a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Art faithfully served his country for more than 22 years, receiving countless medals, badges, and commendations. He worked as an attendant for the Accomack County Convenience Center in Painter, VA. Art was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Roberta Dardin of Jacksonville, NC, Pattie Melendez of Coweta, OK, and Yolanda Melendez of Jacksonville, NC; stepsons, Raymond Hess and wife Leighann of Quinby and Steven Jones of Melfa, VA; daughter-in-law, Tina Amaya of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Kendra, Chelsea, and Nathan Zerba and Andy Melendez; and step grandchildren, Anthony, Heaven and Nicole Hess. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ernest Amaya.
In consideration of the gathering restrictions relating to COVID-19, a private graveside service will be held at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
