Mrs. Irene Lewis Harrison, 89, wife of the late Warner Edward Harrison and a resident of Accomac, VA, walked graciously into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Born October 2, 1929 in Deep Creek, VA, she was a daughter of the late Ira Lewis and Mary Murphy Lewis.
Mrs. Harrison was a graduate of Onancock High School and worked as a teller for SunTrust Bank, for many years. She remained devoted to her faith throughout her life and was a loyal member of Leatherbury United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher. As the matriarch of the Harrison family, Irene led by example through her love for the Lord and dedication to her family, all of whom will forever cherish and celebrate her memory.
Survivors include her sister, Lucy Shea of Onancock, VA; brother, George Lewis and wife Norma of Exmore, VA; grandchildren, Charlene H. Johnson and husband R.J. of Accomac, Robert Bradford and Molly of Jonestown, PA, and Steven Bradford and wife Kate of Tasley, VA; daughter-in-law, Linda Bradford and husband Larry of Tasley; great-grandchildren, Chase, Chloe, Kristen, Reyanna, and Grayson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Larry Edward Harrison.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverends Roland Major and Charles W. Parks III officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
