Irma Jean (Welsh) Eskuchen

Irma Jean Eskuchen, née Welsh, passed away peacefully in her beautiful home in Onancock, VA, with the love of her family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Just a few weeks earlier, she had celebrated her 98th birthday—a remarkable milestone in a life filled with grace, laughter, and quiet strength.

Irma shared a long and loving marriage with her devoted husband, William “Bill” Eskuchen, and together they built a life full of cherished memories. Though they never had children of their own, Irma was a beloved aunt to 14 nieces and nephews and held a special place in the hearts of her many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A true animal lover, Irma’s family extended beyond people to include her cherished dog, affectionate cats, and even Pete the Peacock, who brought joy and color to her days.

Irma's life was one well lived—full of love, laughter, and a deep connection to the world around her. She will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all who knew her.
