Jack Sturgis, 64, of Exmore, VA, passed away May 24, 2026, at Shore Health and Rehab in Parksley, VA. Jack was born May 17, 1962, in Salisbury, MD.
Always hard-working and willing to help anyone, Jack was adored by his wife, family, and friends. His loss will be felt for years to come, but his memories will live on forever.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Raleigh LPD-1 as an E-5 Boiler Technician. Jack was recognized for his exceptional performance during the Lebanon War in 1983 by the Commander of the Amphibious Squadron Two and the 22nd Marine Amphibious Unit.
After Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Jack began working with Delmarva Power and later ANEC, with a combined 41 years between the two. He served the community by keeping their electricity on as a lineman, serviceman, and AMI Tech.
When Jack wasn’t working, he loved being on the water. Whether fishing or watersports, he found a way to hit the bays and the creeks around the Shore. He met his wife on the waters of Chincoteague, as a matter of fact. He also loved swinging his club at the golf course. Nature was his happy place and being outdoors was where he felt most free.
Per his wishes, no public service will be held.
