Jacqueline Bennett Obituary

Mrs. Jacqueline Ellen “Jackie” Bennett, 65, beautiful bride of Colie Robert Bennett III, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home on Chincoteague Island, VA. Born May 23, 1956 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Wallace Grammer and Isabelle Watt Grammer.

Jackie grew up on Jones Creek in Baltimore County, MD and spent many family vacations visiting their property at Virginia Landing in Quinby, VA. As a skilled phlebotomist, Jackie was among the best in her field, working many years at Central Labs in Timonium, MD, as well as for numerous nursing homes from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. In 1992, while visiting the Eastern Shore, she found what many never experience…love at first sight. From that day forward, she and Colie were inseparable, and Jackie wouldn’t have had it any other way. The wife of a trucker, she was always at his side and looked forward to their next adventure no matter where it led them. Jackie was the kind of person who was content in any situation, instantly making all around her feel at ease. She especially adored children, having been named “Ocean Nana” by the many kids who visited the campground over the years. Jackie often told folks how much she loved her life and it was evident in all the joy and kindness she shared with those fortunate enough to have known her.

In addition to the love of her life and best friend of 30 years, Colie, she is survived by her son, James Milton “Jamie” Schultz, Jr. of Chincoteague; sister, April Grammer of Baltimore; brother, Montgomery Grammer (Kathy) of Baltimore; grandchildren, Hannah Marie Bennett and Carlee Renee Bennett; sisters-in-law, Tina Wessells and her husband, Robert, and Lori Shreaves and her husband, Bryan; brother-in-law, David Bennet and his wife, Tammy; furbabies, “Cleo” and “Scardy Kat;” and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her sons, Jason Montgomery Schultz and Colie Robert “C.R.” Bennett IV; sister, Vicki Grammer; and nephew, Blaine DeBarbora.

A memorial service will be held at Modest Town Baptist Church on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., with The Reverend John Cullop officiating.
