James Timothy McAllister

James Timothy McAllister, 69, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at his home in Onancock, VA, following a courageous battle with a long illness. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude the dedicated medical professionals and caregivers who provided comfort, support, and care to Tim during his illness. Born December 10, 1955 in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late James McAllister and Emma Jane Conover McAllister. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Susan M. Johnson and her husband, Michael, of Tucson, AZ and sister, Terri McAllister of Chesapeake, VA.

Tim found peace and solace spending time in the mountains of West Virginia and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. He loved watching football, especially the Commanders. He was in long-term recovery and found strength and support in his network and in helping others.

In addition to his mother and father, he was predeceased by his grandmother, Etta Conover, and his beloved German Shepherd, Rex.

Contributions in Tim’s memory may be made to any laryngectomy support group or a charity of one’s choosing.

No public service will be held.
