Joshua Antonio Vasquez

Joshua Antonio Vasquez was born on December 8, 2004 in Nassawadox, VA and went to be with the stars on Monday, June 13, 2022, forever shining down on those he loved so fiercely.

Left to celebrate and cherish his memory are his parents, Juan Antonio Vasquez and Kimberly Marie Vasquez; his siblings, Caylei, Alyssa, Kamden, Felicity, and Olivia; countless extended family members; and the best friends a kid could ever hope to have.

With his charming smile, perfectly complimented by the cutest dimples, Josh was adored by all before he even spoke a word. As beautiful as he was on the outside, his heart and soul were exceptional, always going out of his way to help family and friends. Josh’s drive, determination, and sheer will to succeed at everything he set his mind to was inspiring. He attended Nandua High School until moving to Goldsboro, NC this past February, where he completed his junior year at Southern Wayne High School. In addition to maintaining honor roll status, Josh played basketball, soccer, and was rarely defeated on the wrestling mat, and he always had a part time job. As big brother to his five siblings, they could always count on their “Josheroo,” just as his friends could always count on their “Joshy.” Over the years, you’d rarely see one of the ‘the crew’ without the rest and each of his friends considered him a brother and their parents loved him as if he were their own.

Josh’s love was infinite and bigger than life, and he will live on in our hearts and in the beautiful memories shared.

A service to celebrate Josh’s life will be held at the Rock Church in Onley, VA on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Paul Nolz officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. All are encouraged to wear blue, as this was Josh's favorite color. 

Please continue to honor Josh's life by showing and giving love and kindness to others. When in doubt, look to the stars, and he'll be there to guide you.
