Kenna Charles Fetterman, 69, loving husband of Betty White Fetterman and a resident of Temperanceville, VA, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Born March 4, 1951 in Nassawadox, VA and raised in Quinby, VA, he was a son of the late Robert Stahl Fetterman, Sr. and Irene Godbey Fetterman.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Kenna served his country in the United States Army. Following discharge, he began working as a welder for Holly Farms, now Tyson Foods, where he later retired after 50 years. Kenna enjoyed deer hunting, family vacations and outings, and was always working on something around the house. A true gentleman, he adored Betty and happily went out of his way to show her – whether he was holding her hand, opening her car door, or agreeing to purple décor and canopy beds. Kenna was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife of more than 45 years, he is survived by his sons, Tony Dean Evans of Salisbury, MD and Victor William Evans of Sanford, VA; sister, Beverly Fetterman Sebra and husband Ken of Quinby; brothers, Robert S. Fetterman, Jr. and wife Pam of Bloxom, VA and Douglas W. Fetterman and wife Donna of Deep Creek, VA; grandson, Victor William Evans II; and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Phillips Fetterman; and his beloved furbaby, “Missy.”
To honor Kenna’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the Downings Cemetery.
