Lee Ann Hala, 65, of Modest Town, VA, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. Lee was born January 10, 1958, a daughter to Anne Francis Costello, in the Bronx, NY.
Anyone who knew Lee, knew she was fun and sassy. She loved to laugh and took the chance to enjoy nature every chance she got. Lee found beauty in the greens, golds, and browns of the earth. She tended to her plants daily, and she relished their growth and beauty. In her younger years, she developed quite an artistic talent. Over the years, she cultivated many paintings. A paintbrush in her hand, Tom Petty on the radio, and birdwatching brought her peace. Christian faith gave her strength and peace in her later years. She loved the Lord and accepted him as her savior years ago. She was so proud of her family and their accomplishments. Her family will miss her for a long time.
Lee is survived by her children, Christine Godbold of Modest Town, Cheslea Dyer (James Dyer) of Richmond, VA, Kellianne Turner (Ryan Turner) of San Antonio, TX, Kaitlyn O'Brien (Ethan Morgan) of Bloxom, VA, and Austin O'Brien (Kelsey Sneddon) of Asbury Park, NJ; brothers, Steven Hodgdon, Thomas Costello, Chris Costello, Frank Costello, and Kevin Costello; grandchildren, Michael Radich, Joshua Radich, Cailyn Radich, Chloe Dyer, Rowan Dyer, Oona Dyer, Harper Turner, Emerie Turner, Jasper O'Brien, and Fenrir O'Brien; numerous nieces, and nephews; and her beloved pug, Chloe, and cavalier, Mona. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Costello; husband, John Hala; and life partner, Fred Ayoub.
A private service will be held at a later date.
