Leonicio Velasquez Morales, de 63 años y oriundo de Boxoncan, Guatemala, falleció el 6 de abril de 2026.

Leonicio fue un padre devoto para sus numerosos hijos y un hombre cuya vida estuvo cimentada en el trabajo arduo, la fe y el amor por los demás. Trabajó como agricultor, dedicando su vida a proveer para su familia y a mantenerse conectado con la tierra que tanto amaba: Guatemala.

Sentía una verdadera pasión por el fútbol y encontraba gran alegría en la música, tocando una variedad de instrumentos a lo largo de su vida. Ya fuera en el campo de juego o rodeado de música, Leonicio aportaba energía y calidez a cada espacio en el que entraba.

Como firme seguidor de Cristo, su fe guiaba su forma de vivir, tratando a los demás con bondad, generosidad y compasión. Era conocido como una persona sociable, alguien capaz de conversar con cualquiera, hacer que los demás se sintieran bienvenidos y dejar una impresión perdurable gracias a su espíritu genuino.

A Leonicio le sobreviven su esposa, Leticia Arreaga; sus hijos, Jerry, Sidany, Brayden, Alexi y Abelarmino; sus hijas, Eduarda, Clara y Marisela; y su familia extendida y seres queridos, quienes continuarán su legado de amor, fe y resiliencia.

Será profundamente extrañado y recordado por siempre por todos aquellos que lo conocieron.

La Misa de funeral se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia Católica St. Peter the Apostle el sábado 18 de abril de 2026 a las 7:30 p.m., con el Padre Michael Imperial oficiando. Habrá velación y visita en la iglesia desde las 3:00 p.m. hasta las 7:30 p.m. Leonicio será sepultado con su familia en su tierra natal—Guatemala.

Leonicio Velasquez Morales, 63, of Boxoncan, Guatemala, passed away on April 6, 2026.

Leonicio was a devoted father to his many children and a man whose life was rooted in hard work, faith, and love for others. He worked as a farmer, dedicating his life to providing for his family and also staying connected to the land he cared for so deeply—Guatemala.

He had a true passion for soccer and found great joy in music, playing a variety of instruments throughout his life. Whether on the field or surrounded by music, Leonicio brought energy and warmth to every space he entered.

A strong follower of Christ, his faith guided the way he lived—treating others with kindness, generosity, and compassion. He was known as a people person, someone who could talk to anyone, make others feel welcome, and leave a lasting impression with his genuine spirit.

Leonicio is survived by his wife, Leticia Arreaga; sons, Jerry, Sidany, Brayden, Alexi, and Abelarmino; daughters, Eduarda, Clara, and Marisela; and extended family and loved ones, who will carry on his legacy of love, faith, and resilience.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., with Father Michael Imperial officiating. There will be a viewing and visitation at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Leonicio will be laid to rest with his family in his homeland—Guatemala.
