Lila Marsh

Mrs. Lila Lee Smith Marsh, 101, wife of the late Charles Ackley Marsh and a resident of Onancock, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.

Born March 15, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Charles Smith and Annie Mae Parks Smith of Tylerton, MD on Smith Island, where she was both born and raised.  Before her last move to Onancock, she was a longtime resident of Harborton, VA, was an active member of Harborton United Methodist Church where she was a choir member, served as Treasurer of the United Methodist Women, and was the longtime custodian.  Mrs. Marsh was a homemaker, loved gardening, cooking for everyone, and being with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Wilson and husband Jack of Onancock; grandchildren, Julie Bodrey and husband Josh of Charlottesville, VA, and Todd Wilson of Onancock; great-granddaughter, Sarah Wilson of Onancock; six nieces and seven nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marsh was predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Bradshaw, Edwin Smith, Harold Smith, Gene Smith, Jimmy Smith, Billy Smith and Peggy Ann Corbin.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., from the Harborton United Methodist Church with The Reverend Everett Landon officiating.  A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, and interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock.
