Louise Colonna (Reade) Hopkins

Louise Colonna Reade Hopkins, age 99, of Keller, Virginia, died on February  19, 2020.  She was the daughter of the late John Wesley Reade and Hazel Ludine Reade, and the widow of the late Russell Lang Hopkins.

The beloved matriarch of her family, the decedent was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who led a life full of love, commitment, determination, and faith. A member of Melfa United Methodist Church, she selflessly volunteered her time to her neighbors, church, and community.  She never wavered in her convictions, which are a true testament to her life well-lived.  Those who knew her will forever celebrate and appreciate her impact on their lives.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Hopkins Kelly, and her spouse, Frank G. Kelly III, of Yorktown VA; another daughter, Patsy Hopkins Carpenter, and her husband, John C. Carpenter, of Yorktown VA; a son, John Lloyd Hopkins, of Keller VA; another son, Mark Rodney Hopkins, and his spouse, Madeline Hopkins, of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

At the decedent’s request, a private graveside service, officiated by The Reverend Albert Crockett,  was held on February 22, 2020.
