Lynne Willis Purvis, 82, wife of the late Lt. Cdr. Ronald Scott Purvis, USN Ret., and resident of Accomac, VA, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA. Born July 1, 1942, in Medford Lakes, NJ, Lynne was the daughter of James Orville Willis and Elizabeth Birchall Willis.
Lynne was a woman who lived unapologetically and spoke her mind with pride. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was preparing a delicious meal for her family or cruising the local creeks with her beloved husband. An avid outdoorswoman, Lynne cherished fishing, tending to her immaculate garden (where not a single weed dared to grow), and camping on the picturesque Barrier Islands. Above all, her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, who brought endless joy and light to her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ward Scott Purvis and Blair Purvis; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Fernandez, George Synder, Scott Snyder, and Brady Purvis. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Willis; daughter, Heather Purvis; and brother-in-law, Pete Purvis.
Per Lynne’s request, no public service will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
