Mary Elizabeth Curtis

Mary Elizabeth Curtis, 47, of Melfa, VA, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Born March 30, 1978 in Nassawadox, VA and raised in Onley, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Smith Mears, Sr. and Pearl Townsend Mears.

Mary is survived by her brothers and sisters, Samuel S. Mears, Jr., Dale G. Mears, Thomas E. “Tommy” Mears, Sr., Lois Ann Burton and her husband, Joe, Wayne Tatum, George Tatum and his wife, Beth, and William Tatum; stepdaughter, Meagen Mason; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will gather for private interment at the Belle Haven Cemetery.
