Mary Virginia (Taylor) Killmon

Mary Virginia Killmon entered into the presence of Jesus on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the age of 95. She is now peacefully resting in her Savior’s arms and feeling the loving embrace of those who went before her, especially her beloved husband, Warren Crandell Killmon.

Born April 16, 1928 in Bloxom, VA, Mary was the daughter of the late Lewis Thomas Taylor and Lillie Mae Gibbs Taylor. Following high school, she began working for Delaney Foods in Exmore, VA, a job she remained grateful for throughout her life, as it was what brought her and Warren together. From the moment they met, they were inseparable and never took a moment for granted in their 59 years of marriage, perfectly complimenting one another through love and laughter. Always enthusiastic for life’s joys, both big and small, Mary made sure to make time to enjoy life, especially when she was with her family.

Mary and Warren made their home in Onancock, VA, where they raised their daughter. Over the years, she kept busy with her home and family and working part-time for Eastern Shore staples such as Ben Franklin’s 5 and dime and Cherry Jane. Later, she also worked at Roses and spent a brief time delivering film for Photo Hut.

Her kind and gentle soul will forever live in the hearts of those closest to her as they continue her legacy of spreading happiness and remaining thankful for each day the Lord blesses us with the opportunity to share precious moments with loved ones.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Andrews and her husband, Jack, of Westover, MD; granddaughter, Alyshia Tam and her husband, Danny, of Hutto, TX; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Anna; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice, Myrtle, Doris, Mabel, Helen, Ralph M., Ralph T., and Melvin.

The family will greet friends at Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., with The Reverend Dale Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Downing’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or monetary contributions, Mary’s family encourages all to live as she did…always finding the time to laugh and enjoy life and spending time with family.
