Michael Tull Obituary

Michael Barnes Tull, 78, of Parksley, VA, passed away on May 5, 2023, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, after several months of medical complications related to cancer.

Mike was the son of the late Clifford and Edna Tull.  He was born in San Antonio, TX, on June 24, 1944, while his father was serving in the Army. They soon moved back to the Eastern Shore of Virginia where Mike spent the rest of his life in the Parksley area. He graduated from Parksley High School in 1962. In 1965, he married Betsy Judd and shortly afterward gained employment with C&P Telephone. He retired from Verizon in 1995, working as a Special Services Technician.

He was passionate about fishing, crabbing, and boating in the Chesapeake Bay. Softball was a favorite sport and he could be found coaching. He enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows with his son. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters.

He is survived by one son, Ed Tull, and his wife, Christie, of Willards, MD; two granddaughters, Morgan and Courtney Tull; a brother-in-law, Bobby Judd, of Pocomoke City, MD; a sister-in-law, Peggy Boa (John), of Ruskin, FL; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy, in 1997 and by his brother, Malcolm, in 2000.

The family would like to thank everyone at Shore Health and Rehab Center and Riverside Shore Hospice for their care. Also, they extend thanks to Marquita Savage and her staff for their kindness as home healthcare workers.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
