Mr. Milton Nock Custis, Jr., 91, husband of Ellen Jones Custis and a resident of Pungoteague, VA, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Commonwealth Senior Living (formerly Hermitage on the Eastern Shore), in Onancock, VA.

Born June 12, 1927 in Craddockville, VA and raised on the family farm in Pungoteague, he was a son of the late Milton Nock Custis, Sr. and Bessie Smith Custis. A lifelong farmer, Milton worked tirelessly to maintain his family legacy and did so until after his 90th birthday. Though his passion was farming, his greatest love was for his family, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.

Gaskill and husband Stephen, all of Pungoteague; brother, Paige Custis of Onley, VA; three grandchildren, Talia Taylor and husband Bobby, Tony Custis and wife Jill, and Amber Custis; five great-grandchildren, Ellen Grace, Bates, and Bailey Taylor and Hannah and Lillian Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Inez C. Kastler, Linda Custis, and Eugenia C. Beasley; and brothers, James Custis and Richard Custis.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Commonwealth Senior Living and Intrepid Hospice for the care and compassion given to “Pop”.
