Pastor Wayne Hart Obituary

Pastor Wayne Alan Hart left his earthly home and entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the age of 75. The only son of the late Harry “Spencer” Hart and Joyce Elaine Wilkie Hart, Wayne was born October 21, 1946 on the family farm in Lewes, DE.

As a third-generation farmer, Wayne worked alongside his father and grandfather from the time he could walk the field. Soon after graduating from Lewes High School, Wayne relocated to the Eastern Shore, having been selected for NASA’s engineering technician apprentice program. His success in the program led to a longtime career as an engineering technician for NASA, retiring in 1995. Farming remained a constant throughout his life as Wayne continued his family legacy cultivating his land on the Shore. Recently, he was able to repair and restore his grandfather’s 1952 Massey Harris tractor. He beamed with pride as its rumble brought back fond memories of his childhood.

With humility and respect, Wayne sought to share the love of God with all. He felt the call to ministry long before making it official and was a calm and assuring presence in the midst of life’s storms and always extended a listening ear, walking with countless souls through their greatest joys and deepest sorrows. In retirement, he dedicated his life to God’s calling, beginning his pastoral leadership as a lay minister, and later as an associate pastor. For more than 15 years, Wayne has led Sunday morning sermons at numerous churches throughout the Shore and spent endless hours visiting folks at nursing homes from Pocomoke to Onancock. His impact on family and friends, church congregations, and the community at large was profound, and his passing will be felt by many.

Matthew 25:23 reads: His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Pastor Wayne Alan Hart is indeed rejoicing in the streets of gold.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was welcomed in heaven by his wife, Constance Faye “Connie” Hart and great-grandson, Shawn Michael “Shawny” Turner. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Ginger Hart Villanueva of Norfolk, VA and Eric Wayne Hart and his wife, April, of Parksley, VA; stepchildren, Donald Monroe Windsor, Jr. of Taylorsville, NC and Terry Lynn Windsor-Kelly and her husband, Philip, of Parksley; sisters, Janice Burris of Milford, DE and Carol Stone and her husband, David, of Pinehurst, NC; grandchildren, Addison, Spencer, Tyler, and Lindsey, Donald, David, Jessica, April, Kaylen, and Ashley; great-grandsons, Christopher and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews.
