Randall “Randy” Michael Kotz, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at his home in Onancock, VA.
Randy Kotz was an award-winning Philadelphia broadcaster for almost 40 years. One of the architects of progressive FM radio in Philadelphia, Randy was an on-air host at WMMR, WYSP, WMGK, and STAR 104.5 and an on-air host, Assistant Program Director, and Music Director in Allentown at WLEV. In 2020, Randy joined OutsideFM, an online free form rock station. Randy’s warm, friendly, conversational voice and his seamless blending of classic rock and new music took his listeners on a thoughtfully curated musical journey each week. It was like hanging out in a friend’s living room listening to great tunes.
Randy is survived by his beloved partner and wife of 41 years, Robin (Mucha); his sister, Nancy Shore Abbott (Jim); nieces, Simone Videtto (Bill), Janice Shore Berg (Tristan), Elisa Shore Rickett (Neil), Rufus Abbott, and Audrey Abbott; and his grand-nieces, Jaime Videtto, Sophie Videtto to whom he was Godfather, Edith Rickett, and Margaret Rickett. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith (Randall) Kotz.
