Reita Cooper Russell

Reita Cooper Russell, 90, wife of the late Larry Bradford Russell and a resident of Newport News, VA, formerly of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, passed away at her home on Monday, December 26, 2022.

Born July 8, 1932 in Assawoman, VA and raised in Hunting Creek, VA, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Lewis Cooper. Reita is survived by her children, Melissa Jane Russell of Newport News and Curtis Lee Russell and his wife, Christina, of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Agnes Cooper Horrell of North Carolina; grandchildren, Adam Bradford Russell, River Sydney Pearce, Casey Leigh Fitzgerald (Ryan), and Krista Lynn Sikes (Eric); great-granddaughters, Rebecca Rose Fitzgerald and Grace Lily Fitzgerald; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will gather privately at the Mount Holly Cemetery, in Onancock, VA, where Reita will be laid to rest beside her husband, Larry.
