Mr. Robert James “Bob” Peters, 93, husband of Mary Cole Peters and a resident of Horsey, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD.
Born May 18, 1927 in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Patrick Thomas Peters and Claire Stricker Peters. Bob served his country in the United States Navy and was an insurance salesman. He was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church, devoted to serving the Eastern Shore Railway Museum in Parksley, VA, and the oldest living active member of Oak Hall Rescue in Oak Hall, VA.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two daughters, Lori Van Dusen and her husband Chris, and Carolyn Peters Mitchell, all of Camden, ME; four grandchildren, Ethan and Tucker Van Dusen, and Lauren and Sarah Mitchell; a step-son, Richard “Rick” Dieumegarde, his wife Stephanie and their family, of Buford, GA; a brother, Donald Joseph Peters and his wife Katie, of Horntown, VA; and two sisters, Sr. Patricia Claire Peters of New York, and Margaret Mary Peters Boyle and her husband James, of Bend, OR.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be planned in the future.
