Sethaleen "Teeny" Taylor Obituary

Mrs. Sethaleen Parker “Teeny” Taylor, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Born July 10, 1942 in Whiteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jake Parker and Dollie Mae Nobles Parker. In the late 40’s the Parker’s moved to Wachapreague, VA, where they made their forever home in the “Little City by the Sea.” Teeny attended Central High School, during which time she met her Parksley High School sweetheart, Norman Wayne Taylor. Following graduation, Teeny and Wayne were married and spent the next sixty years enjoying this life together without a dull moment in between.

Teeny was all about family and it was evident in everything she did. There wasn’t a birthday, a holiday, a sport played, or life event that Teeny wasn’t front and center. She loved family dinners and gatherings, especially at Christmas, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with those she loved most.

In addition to her loving husband, Teeny is survived by their three children, Norman Wayne Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, Wendy Taylor, and Jake Taylor, all of Wachapreague; brother, Sam Parker and his wife, Susie, of Wachapreague; grandchildren, Nicole Taylor-Dauses and her husband, Tyler, Rebecca Wivell and her husband, Robert, Rachel Wivell and her husband, Scott, Parker Taylor, and Sadie Taylor; great-grandsons, Tanner and Cooper Wivell; her beloved furbaby, Miley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, Teeny was predeceased by her sister, Helen Atkinson and brother, Willard Parker.

Funeral services will be held at the Exmore Baptist Church Outreach Center on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Wachapreague Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions in Teeny’s memory may be made to Shore Christian Academy, 11624 Occohannock Neck Road, Exmore, VA 23350 or to the charity of your choice.
