Shirley Goodman

Shirley Ann (Sheppard) Goodman, age 83, of Amelia, VA, passed from this life on August 1, 2018 at Hermitage on the Eastern Shore.  

Shirley was born in Prince Edward County, VA and moved to Amelia County as a newlywed. She was an activemember of Trinity United Methodist Church of Amelia, VA.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Coleman Guthrie Goodman, who was the co-owner of Goodman Truck and Tractor Co in Amelia.Shirley and Guthrie enjoyed boating and entertaining family and friends on Buggs Island Lake in Clarksville, VA.  She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Goodman Kellam and her husband, Garnett, of Mappsville, VA, and Martha Goodman Hathcock and her husband, Charlie, of Kitty Hawk, NC; two granddaughters, Rachel C. Kellam, and Hannah Kellam Kloch and husband, Andy; and sister-in-law, Caroline Warren of Richmond; as well as loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends and her much loved and devoted cat, “Dory”.

A memorial service will be held at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore Employee Fund, 23610 North Street, Onancock, VA 23417.
