Sofonías Gabriel Escalante Pérez, 28, de Parksley, VA, falleció el sábado 4 de mayo de 2024. Nacido el 24 de marzo de 1996 en Tacana, San Marcos, Guatemala, era hijo de Demecio Escalante y Rosalvina Perez Ortiz.

Sofonías trabajaba en la construcción y era bien conocido por su sólida ética de trabajo y sus habilidades de carpintería. Le encantaba estar con familiares y amigos y disfrutaba especialmente jugar fútbol y escuchar música. Un músico talentoso, Sofonías era un guitarrista y trompetista increíble.

Se llevará a cabo una misa de funeral desde la capilla de la funeraria Williams-Parksley el viernes 24 de mayo de 2024 a las 6:00 p. m., oficiada por el padre Michael Imperial. Una hora antes se realizará una vigilia. El sepelio se realizará en Guatemala.

Sofonias Gabriel Escalante Perez, 28, of Parksley, VA, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024. Born March 24, 1996 in Tacana, San Marcos, Guatemala, he was the son of Demecio Escalante and Rosalvina Perez Ortiz.

Sofonias worked in construction and was well known for his strong work ethic and carpentry skills. He loved being with family and friends and especially enjoyed playing soccer and music. A talented musician, Sofonias was an incredible guitarist and trumpeter.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., with Father Michael Imperial officiating. A vigil will be held one hour prior. Interment will be held in Guatemala.
