Thomas Michael “Tommy” Baylis, 73, husband of the late Cindy Mae Baylis, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA. Born November 1, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, he was the son of the late Arthur William Baylis and Josephine Adamo “Jo” Baylis.
Tommy graduated from Central High School and then relocated to Clifton Forge, VA, where he continued his studies in agriculture and forestry. For several decades, he worked at Alleghany Regional Hospital and spent many years volunteering as a little league coach until returning to the Shore in early 2021 to be closer to his family.
Tommy is survived by his siblings, Gary Arthur Baylis of Parksley, VA, Patricia Baylis Gorman and her husband, John, of Nassawadox, VA, and Kevin Wayne Baylis and his wife, Debbie, of Onley, VA, and their families.
Services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, in Onancock, VA, on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Bobby Parks officiating.
