Valena Boney Gibb

Mrs. Valena Boney Gibb, 97, wife of the late Joseph Lester Gibb and former resident of Onancock, VA passed away on May 20, 2023, at her home in Catonsville, MD. Born in Sampson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Odist Boney and Mary Edna Caison Boney, of Harrells, NC.

Mrs. Gibb worked for many years as a Technical Editor for a U.S. Government contractor. She was a devoted member of Market Street United Methodist Church, Woman’s Club of Accomack County, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her son, William L. Gibb (Rachel) of Westminster, MD, and her daughter, Kathryn G. Kittel (David) of Mechanicsville, VA. Mrs. Gibb is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sister, Grace Sutton (W.C.) of Harrells; and cherished nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.
