Virginia Loring Belote

Virginia Loring Belote, lovingly known as Ginny by her family, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist - Wilkes Medical Center, in Wilkesboro, NC, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 96 years old.

Ginny was born on May 17, 1928, in Exmore, VA, to Upsher Quinby Belote and Edna Seaman Belote. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Robert Scott Belote Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Charlotte B. Belote, of Wilkesboro, NC; nephews, Robert Scott Belote Jr. and wife, Beth, of North Wilkesboro, NC, and David Upsher Belote and fiancée, Barbara Dallmer, of Wilmington, NC; and niece, Pamela Ann Belote, of Wilkesboro, NC. She is also survived by her great-nephew, Robert Scott Belote III and wife Ashley, of Huntersville, NC; great-niece, Lindsey Belote Shore and husband Justin, of Wilkesboro, NC; and great-great-nieces, Aubree Marie Shore and Kamree Grace Shore.

A proud graduate of Onancock High School in 1945, Ginny worked in the banking industry for 40 plus years, from which she retired. Ginny moved to Wilkesboro from Parksley in May of 2016, where she enjoyed the warmth and companionship of her family and the many friends she made at Rose Glen Village.

Ginny was an active member of Market Street United Methodist Church in Onancock, where she found both spiritual solace and community. She was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Market Street Methodist Church in Onancock, VA, with Pastor Ray Daisey officiating. There will be a graveside service Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock, VA.

A memorial service in North Carolina was held in January, with arrangements by Miller Funeral Service (http://www.millerfuneralservice.com).

Her family is grateful for the care and support provided by the staff at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist - Wilkes Medical Center and Mountain Valley Hospice during her final days.
