Virginia Rae Parks, 90, wife of the late Elton L. Parks and a resident of Pocomoke City, MD, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, MD.
A native of Tangier Island, VA, Virginia was born June 28, 1931 to the late William Jennings Evans and Eunice Evans Parks Murray. In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Parks Marshall and sisters, Janice Crockett and Annabelle Evans. She is survived by her granddaughters, Angela P. Terrell and her husband, Eugene, of Georgia and Robin Haymoor and her husband, Nabil, of Oregon; great-granddaughter, Ashley Colson of Washington, special cousin, Mary Lee Moore of Tangier; several nieces and nephews and their families; as well as countless friends and her beloved church family.
Psalm 107:1 reads: O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Jesus said we are the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world,” and Virginia embodied His word as a devoted Christian. She was a faithful member of Lighthouse Fellowship Church, who proudly dedicated her life in service to the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Fellowship Church on Chincoteague, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating.
