William Phillips Fetterman, Sr.

William Phillips Fetterman, Sr., of Quinby, VA, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 64. Born February 18, 1955 in Nassawadox, VA, he was a son of the late Robert Stahl Fetterman, Sr. and Irene Godbey Fetterman.

For more than 20 years, William worked for Perdue Farms as the Rendering Maintenance Supervisor, where his dedication to maintaining the plants equipment around the clock was invaluable. William had a soft spot for all animals and would often welcome neighborhood strays and spoiled his family’s pets. It was rare to find him without an Xbox controller in hand, or in front of his computer while watching his favorite shows on tv. William was known for giving family and friends a hard time, but they knew if he was picking, he was showing his love. 

William is survived by his children, Phil Fetterman and wife Jennifer of Laurel, DE and Christy Belote and husband Donnie of Accomac, VA; sister, Beverly Fetterman Sebra and husband Ken of Malvern, PA; brothers, Robert S. Fetterman, Jr. and wife Pam of Bloxom, VA, K.C. Fetterman and wife Betty Jean of Sanford, VA, and Douglas W. Fetterman and wife Donna of Deep Creek, VA; grandchildren, Jillian Fetterman and Benjamin Belote; step-granddaughter, Cassidy Belote; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate William’s life will be held at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., with The Reverend Bill Moore officiating.
