William “Bill” Francis Harrison Jr., 73, husband of the late Patti Harrison, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, in Berlin, MD. Born August 17, 1950, in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of the late William Francis Harrison and the late Dorothy Lewis Harrison.
Bill was the very definition of a “Shoreboy.” He lived most of his life in the very house that he came home to on the day he was born. He was a hard worker. From his many years of planting the fields with corn and soy beans to crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay to operating heavy equipment, he rarely saw a day when he wasn’t providing for his family from sun up to sun down. Bill was just as content in the woods, with no one around, waiting for a big buck to spring up from across the path, as he was hunting with his friends in Dahl’s Swamp Hunt Club. Any chance he had to go out on the boat with a rod in one hand and one of his “Pepsis” in the other he took it. He found peace in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Leatherbury United Methodist Church, he bore witness to the good word. He loved his animals, especially his dog, Lucky, that preceded him in death.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Dana Adams and her husband, Mike, and Trina Harrison, all of Berlin; grandchildren, Zachary and Jamie Adams, of Berlin; niece, Vickie White, of Parksley, VA; close friends and neighbors, Beverly and Robert Jimemez, of Onancock, whom the family called “God-sends,” thanks to their considerable dedication to helping Bill throughout the last few years; and his dog, Gabby.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Francis Harrison and the late Dorothy Lewis Harrison; wife, Patti Harrison; sister, Francis Rantz; brother, Bobby Harrison; and his favorite dog, Lucky.
Funeral services will be held at Leatherbury United Methodist Church, in Deep Creek, VA, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Roland Major officiating. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
