Robert William “Bobby” Crutchley, 55, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home in Melfa, Va.

Bobby was born on November 24, 1959 in Trenton, NJ.  He and his family moved to the Eastern Shore in his teenage years, to start the family business, “Ace Builders”.  After graduating from Onancock High School and marrying his sweetheart, Gayle, Bobby transformed Ace Builders, and became president of Crutchley Enterprises, Inc.  Bobby and his family successfully built numerous homes and businesses on the Eastern Shore.

He loved spending time with his family.  When he wasn’t building homes with his brothers, he could typically be found at the grill cooking delicious dinners, not only for his family, but also welcomed his sons’ friends into their home.  Other family memories involved NASCAR races, and enjoying the Chesapeake Bay on hot summer days.

His parents, William and Barbara Crutchley, preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Gayle, and sons Robert Kyle (wife Karen) of Unicoi, Tenn., and Jacob William of Melfa, and two very dear grandchildren, Kyleigh and Robert Karson Crutchley of Unicoi.  Other family include brothers William “Billy” (wife Kathy), and Barry (wife Rebecca), aunt, Darl Barbalacci, of Yardville, NJ, mother-in-law, Gail P. Pusey of Onancock, Va., and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stacy Pedrozo of Hawaii, and Trent Pusey of Salisbury, Md., and their families.  There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend and neighbor, Cindy Lane.  He will also be missed by Baylee, his loyal and protective dog.

A graveside service will be conducted from the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock, Va., Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 17, Nassawadox, Va.  23413, or to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite 3, Onancock, Va.  23417.
