Irma Arnold Foltz

Mrs. Irma Arnold Foltz, 97, wife of the late Nelson Pagge Foltz and a resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Born October 13, 1918 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Karl Julius Alfred Arnold and Caroline Adele Handke Arnold.  Mrs. Foltz was a 1936 graduate of Lucy L. Flower Technical High School in Chicago; a founding member of St. Paul on the Shore Lutheran Church in Hallwood, VA; was active in Church Women United and the Red Hat Ladies; and was an avid reader, a skilled crossword puzzle solver, and loved to play mahjong with her friends.

Survivors include her children, Nelson P. Foltz, Jr. and John A. Foltz, both of Onancock, and Randall A. Foltz and his wife Judy, of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Foltz Pozzebon, Mark P. Foltz, Robert R. Anderson, Jr., Joriel C. Foltz and Dreagn D. Foltz; six great-grandchildren, Analyssa M. Quaranta, Sutton P. Foltz, Kate A. Foltz, Sagan Foltz Haley, Kepler Foltz Haley, and Dashler B. Foltz; a son-in-law, Ronald W. Souders of Hope Mills, NC; and six nieces and nephews.

A graveside ceremony will be held in Shenandoah, VA, with specific information pending at this time.

The family requests no flowers, and memorial donations in Mrs. Foltz’s memory be made to either St. Paul on the Shore Lutheran Church, 28281 Main Street, Hallwood, VA  23359-2624, or Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC  28607.
