This was Lisa McVey's mother, not her grandmother. She was addicted to drugs and alcohol and had also grown up under the abuse of the grandmother. These things are often generational and don't come out of nowhere. The grandmother was likely a sexual abuse survivor as well. It's a lot easier to be angry at mothers and women who are abuse survivors themselves than the actual abusers. These women became monsters, too but no one is as monstrous as the rapist. Even then, those men are always abuse survivors as well. Wishing people rot in hell makes you just as evil as them. Better to wish everyone healing, redemption and peace.
