Doug Edwards

Douglas Lee Edwards, 59, of Onancock, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his residence.  Born August 7, 1957 in Nassawadox, VA, he was a son of Donald B. Edwards and Phyllis B. Edwards of Onancock.

As a lifelong waterman, there was no place Doug would rather be than on his boat treading the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.  Though he was faced with many hardships throughout his illness, Doug remained strong and persevered over the years.  He attended New Testament Church in his younger years, and most recently found great comfort in his faith.  Doug will be remembered for his courage and resilience, and especially for his love of working on the water.

In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by two brothers, Tony Edwards and wife Jeannette of Onley, VA, and Donnie Edwards and Donna of Leemont, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Mount Holly Cemetery on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating.
