Mrs. Kathryn Collins Williams, 93, wife of the late Tavie Williams and a resident of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Onancock, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, in Salisbury, MD, with her loving family by her side.

Born December 14, 1923 in Wattsville, VA, she was a daughter of the late John E. Collins and Arella Brittingham Collins.  Mrs. Williams retired from the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore and was a longtime member of Riverview United Methodist Church.  She read her bible daily and enjoyed crossword puzzles and coloring, which she attributed to keeping her mind active, and was especially savvy with her cell phone.  Kathryn always stayed in touch with friends and family and would spend hours on her “little phone” catching up with loved ones, near and far.  Although she will be greatly missed, her joyous spirit will be celebrated and treasured by all who knew her.

Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Kay Williams Richardson and husband Edward of Chesapeake, and Brenda Williams Granz and husband Bo of Salisbury; four sisters, Betty Lang of Temperanceville, VA, Beverly Myers and husband Joe of Brierfield, AL, Barbara Squibb and husband Don of Newark, DE, and Darlene Cherrix of New Church, VA; granddaughter, Dawn J. Mason and husband Mike of Pocomoke, MD and Onancock; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Williams Justis; sister, Almeta Fleetwood; and three brothers, John, Wade, and Bobby Dale Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, in Onancock, on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 4:00 p.m., with The Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating.  There will be a visitation at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
