            Mr. Andrew Fredrick “Fred” Wood, 63, of Parksley, Va., passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the home of his sister Ada, in Wattsville, Va.  He was the husband of Connie Wood, and the late Sandra Jean Bromley Wood.

            Born August 16, 1951 in Oak Hall, Va., Fred was a son of the late Charles Raymond Wood, Sr. and Mabel Ruth Satchell Wood.  He was an ambulance driver, most recently and retiring after five years of service, with Virginia Life Line.  Fred was a member of First Baptist Church in New Church, Va., and a member of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company.  He liked to play cards and hunt, until his illness.

            In addition to his wife Connie, survivors include four children, Andy Wood and wife Jeanie, of Cape Charles, Va., Teresa Rudiger and husband Todd, of Melfa, Va., Stevie Wood of Onancock, Va., and James Wood and wife Lindsey, of Wattsville; three step-sons, Wesley Taylor and wife Linda, of Locustville, Va., Tommy Taylor and Cindy of Accomac, Va., and Jason Nicholson of Delaware; a brother, Charles Wood and wife Betty Lou, of Pocomoke, Md.; three sisters, Marion Daniels and husband Danny, of Texas, Mabel Taylor of Oak Hall, and Ada Linton of Wattsville; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his loving and treasured dog Bear.

            In addition to his wife Sandy, and his parents, Fred was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lou Wesley; and three brothers, John William Wood, Douglas McArthur Wood, and Norman Ellis Wood.

            Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Joe Lecates officiating.  Interment will follow in the Groton’s Cemetery in Hallwood, Va.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
