Odelle Barnes Morgan, daughter of the late Carson and Jewell Barnes of Bloxom, Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Dominion Village in Williamsburg, Virginia.  She was 93 years of age.

Mrs. Morgan grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and had been a resident of Williamsburg since 1969.  She was employed by Howard Johnson’s in Williamsburg for 23 years, receiving several awards for her service.

Mrs. Morgan was a remarkable daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She leaves behind many who loved her, including her son, Vic Maloy and his wife Susan; her daughter, Linda Seibert and her husband Skip; her brother, Carson Barnes and his wife Polly; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Heather, Christopher, and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Maria, Annalisa, Chad, Summer, Brandon, Jared, Gracyn, Annabel, and Emeline; nieces, Jane and Elaine; and dear friend, Danny McReynolds.  Her good friend, Clarence Bassett, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Parksley, Virginia, followed by a service of committal at the Parksley Cemetery.  Officiating will be Dr. W. Victor Maloy.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the W. Victor Maloy Pastoral Education Scholarship Fund, C/O The Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care, 2000 Bremo Road, Suite 105, Richmond, Virginia  23226.

The family expresses thanks to Mrs. Morgan’s final caretakers; Dr. Bruce Mayer, the staff of Dominion Village Williamsburg, and the staff of Hospice of Virginia.
