Audrey Taylor Curtis

Mrs. Audrey Taylor Curtis, 85, wife of the late Glenwood Lee Curtis, Sr., and a resident of Bloxom, VA, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 2, 1930 in Grotontown, VA, she was the eldest daughter of Walter Taylor and Laura Killmon Taylor.  Audrey worked at the R & G Shirt Corporation in Parksley, VA from 1948 until its closing in 1994.  An avid seamstress, Audrey continued to make and mend clothing for friends and family, long after retirement.  A longtime member of Guilford United Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and tending to her home and family.  Well known for her tough love and strong will, family always came first with Audrey.  She never failed at being there when she was needed.    

She is survived by a son Glenwood Lee Curtis, Jr. and wife Kathy of Mears, VA; two grandchildren, Glenwood Lee Curtis III and girlfriend/caregiver to Audrey, Windy Grace Mason, and Wade Curtis, all of Bloxom; one step granddaughter, Lois Robertson; one great-granddaughter, Lily; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Millie and Larry Frashure, and Paula and George Hilliard, all of Bloxom; and her loving nurse, Latia Cropper of Temperanceville, VA.  In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Taylor; a brother, Bradford Taylor; and a granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Curtis.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Freddie Ward officiating.  Interment will follow in the Parksley Cemetery.  There will be a visitation, at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
