I only met Miss Chandler for a brief time when she visited our museum with the Jacksons. My thoughts from that brief encounter and our conversations was that she was a wonderful dedicated teacher who made a difference in this world.
We are very grateful to her for remembering us.

We were stationed at the Armed Forces Staff College in the early 1960's. I walked to Meadowbrook elementary school where Ms. Chandler was my 6th and 7th grade teacher. My mother always said that she was the most influential teacher in my life. I think Ms. Chandler took a raw 12 year old and opened his eyes to the world around him. I was in her class when the principal came in to announce that President Kennedy had been assassinated. I was mad because they cancelled the Friday night dance. She took me aside and asked me to think about the Kennedy family and the pain they were experiencing. She then took me to the gym to watch the live TV coverage. She was crying and that made me cry. And it opened my mind to consider that there was more to the life around me than the narrow view of a 12 year old.
I never knew Ms. Chandler's first name until today.
God speed and rest in peace Betty Ann. Your good deeds on earth will long be remembered.

What a wonderful rememberance. She was a wonderful lady. I have had many of her former students tell me how she affected their lives. She was very dear to me and my family. Thank you, Becky
